Why bedrooms are one of the most requested rooms

Bedrooms are consistently one of the most common rooms we are asked to fit air conditioning in, largely because uncomfortable sleep temperatures affect how well people rest, and this becomes particularly noticeable during warm spells or in south or west-facing bedrooms that hold heat into the evening.

Unlike a living room used mainly during the day, a bedroom needs to perform well quietly and often overnight when other household activity has stopped, which changes some of the priorities for positioning and settings compared with other rooms.

Quiet operation

For bedroom installations, we discuss expected noise levels at different fan speeds so you know how the unit is likely to sound on a lower, quieter setting typically used overnight. While no system is completely silent, sensible positioning and appropriate sizing both contribute to a system that is not intrusive during sleep.

Unit positioning and airflow direction

Where the indoor unit is mounted, and which direction its airflow is aimed, makes a real difference to comfort in a bedroom. We aim to avoid positioning that would blow air directly onto the bed on the highest setting, and consider the layout of furniture, wardrobes and the general shape of the room when recommending a location.

Louvre direction and swing settings can usually be adjusted after installation, which allows some flexibility if the bed position changes in future.

Heating as well as cooling

Many bedroom systems provide heating as well as cooling, which can be useful for taking the chill off a room on a cold evening in addition to keeping it comfortable in summer. Whether heating performance suits your bedroom's insulation and existing heating arrangement is something we confirm during the survey.

Controls and Wi-Fi

Bedroom units are typically operated with a handheld remote control, and on some models Wi-Fi control is available, allowing adjustment from a smartphone app depending on the specific unit installed. We will confirm what control options apply to the model recommended for your room.

Survey first

As with any installation, we carry out a survey of the bedroom to check dimensions, insulation, window area and a suitable position for both the indoor and outdoor units before providing a quotation, since these factors all affect the final recommendation.
