Why loft conversions are prone to overheating

The standard of roof insulation fitted during the conversion has a direct effect on how much cooling capacity the room needs. Condensate drainage and pipe routes

Getting condensate drainage and refrigerant pipework from a loft conversion down to ground level, or to a suitable drainage point, needs careful planning, since the route may need to pass through existing floor voids, alongside stairwells or via external elevations. We plan this during the survey to keep pipework as discreet as possible while ensuring drainage works reliably by gravity or, where necessary, via a pump.

Outdoor units for loft conversion systems are typically positioned at ground level or on a rear elevation, with pipe run length and access for future servicing taken into account. Where flat roof areas exist elsewhere on the property, these are also sometimes considered as a siting option, subject to structural and access considerations.
